Michael heads our Workplace Relations practice group advising employers and individuals on all aspects of the employment relationship and disputes including wrongful termination of employment, redundancy, discrimination, bullying and harassment and adverse action claims. Michael also practises in the insurance and commercial litigation areas of the firm specialising in workers compensation claims, CTP claims, product and liability claims and professional indemnity claims. He has conducted litigation on behalf of corporations, employers and insurers in all States and Territories of Australia. He regularly appears as an advocate for clients including employers and insurers in New South Wales courts, commissions and tribunals. He is a regular presenter of seminars for the insurance industry and provides training and guidance to companies and employers on employer liabilities, insurance risks and claims. One of Michael’s great strengths is his ability to directly negotiate outcomes for his clients with national regulators, government authorities, unions, corporations, businesses, individuals and other lawyers to bring about the practical and commercial resolution of disputes. He has practised extensively in corporate and commercial law and his experience covers corporate governance issues, commercial law and commercial litigation with a focus on the insurance, construction and transport industries. David regularly advises on indemnity issues arising from insurance claims and has crafted a wide range of policy wordings including wordings and endorsements for Liability, Legal Expense, Statutory Fines, D&O and Management Liability policies. David’s practice has involved conducting and managing complex insurance claims with a focus on public and products liability, construction all risks and ISR insurance, home warranty claims and professional indemnity insurance. David has a keen eye when it comes to identifying insurance issue that arise from business contracts and regularly advises on and negotiates indemnity and insurance terms found in contracts. David was admitted as a lawyer in 1984, is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association and the Risk Management Institution of Australasia and is an accredited mediator. David is an Accredited Personal Injury Specialist and was a District Court Arbitrator. David Veasey

David is specialist personal injury lawyer with over 30 years of experience in workers compensation laws with extensive experience in complex Defendant common law and work injury damages actions and routine and complex statutory compensation matters.

Andrew is the head of Gillis Delaney’s Corporate and Commercial Team.

He is a corporate law specialist, with significant experience in private and public M&A, restructuring transactions and general corporate advisory matters.

He regularly advises on business sales and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital raisings, corporate restructurings, commercial contracts, corporate governance, executive incentive plans, ASX Listing Rules and foreign investment regulations.

His clients include Australian corporates, family offices, high net worth individuals, private equity and venture capital firms and foreign companies investing in Australia.

He has worked on a range of significant corporate transactions, including the merger between Vodafone Hutchison Australia and TPG Telecom, Universal Robina Corporation’s 40 per cent sale of its Snack Brands Australia and Griffin’s Food businesses to Intersnack International, the debt-for-equity restructuring of Nine Entertainment Co and its subsequent IPO, and the takeover of Spotless Group by funds managed or advised by private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners.

Having previously worked for top tier law firms, Andrew joined Gillis Delaney in 2020 to grow its Corporate and Commercial Team.

Andrew has university qualifications in Law from the University of Sydney (First Class Honours) and Commerce (majoring in Finance) from the Australian National University.
